LUBE OIL TRANSPORT CANS

These are two original lube oil transport cans made by the Columbian Steel Tank Company from Kansas City.  They each hold 5 gallons and the oil was secured with a threaded type screw top.

They would have been used to transport bulk lube type oil from the wholesaler to a retail station for use in their retail bulk oil lubesters. Lube oil was often sold by the quart and was pumped out of the bulk oil lubester into a quart measuring jar and then transferred into the vehicle needing the added oil.
