WAYNE 619 VISIBLE GAS PUMP
Wayne 619 Visible Gas Pump
The Wayne Tank & Pump Company was started in 1891 and manufactured a number of products including oil dispensers, grease dispensers, air compressors, air towers, lifts and car washers,
They had been building visible type pumps since 1920 and in keeping in touch with demand, they developed several variations, one of which was the Wayne 619. It was a hand operated pump with several innovative features designed to gain the confidence of the purchasing public.
One of these features was an internal mechanism that could be raised or lowered with an external crank and would designate the number of gallons to be pumped and delivered. This feature was great for a few years but developed problems with leaks and continual maintenance, and the pump was discontinued in 1933. Ther weren't a whole lot of them produced, making it one of the rarer pumps ever produced by the Wayne company.
Very hard to find in any condition, but this actual pump was in service here in North Dakota and stored inside a building when taken out of service. It was in pretty fair shape when I received it and was a good candidate for restoration. It was restored about 10 years ago with all original parts and retains the original blue tint glass cylinder.
It also has an original SKELLY gas globe on top!
